DirecPC/Windows 98 Issues
With the release of Windows 98 some DirecPC users have experienced
compatibility issues. These issues are presently being researched by Hughes Network
Systems. Once a permanent solution is developed, it will be made available to all our
customers.
Most problems occurred after an upgrade to Win 98 from Win 95, but there are also some
cases where problems arose with a fresh install of Win 98. In both cases, users received
the following error message when they attempted to receive content from the internet:
"Navigator: error while attempting to read BICDD32.DLL"
If you receive this error message, we recommend you uninstall and reinstall the DirecPC
software. It may be necessary to repeat this process more than once if the error message
