Network Management Support Troubleshooting LAN networks is a
challenging task for network managers. The capability to monitor, control and manage each
networking component is a critical element to guarantee the reliability and uptime of a
network. Eagle is committed to help network managers to perform this task and includes now
the Optical Management Interface (OMI) as a standard feature for all LightStation
products.
Optical Management Interface (OMI) The Optical Management Interface (OMI) allows the remote and on-line control of the wireless link connection. The software to monitor the link performance can be installed either on a WIN 95 or a WIN NT computer platform and allows to monitor up to two link heads from a stand-alone PC. The link head to be monitored must be equipped with an optical management interface card. The connection between this interface card and the computer is done via an opto-electrical V.24 converter that plugs into the serial port of the PC. For more information about the Optical Management Interface (OMI) please call AIRLINX toll free at 888.224.6814, or e-mail: info@airlinx.com. Our easy to install and user friendly software package makes it very easy and convenient to monitor the link performance. Click at the text outside the menu window to learn more about the monitoring and documentation interface features! SNMP support For monitoring the link performance with the OMI interface the link head is connected to a stand-alone PC. The MiniRack and the MultiRack units are SNMP Proxy-Agents which can be integrated into a standard SNMP network management environment. Therfore both units allow to monitor the performance of the LightStation IR-communication links from any remote location within your local area network. For more information about the MiniRack SNMP Proxy-Agent, please call AIRLINX toll free at 888.224.6814, or e-mail: info@airlinx.com.
